I'm moving to Phuket...

Yes, after three and a half years on Koh Tao, I'm moving to Phuket, on the west coast, for a few months later in the year and if it goes well, I could make the move (semi) permanently.

My job gets me out and about travelling - which is one of the reasons people get into diving - so being in Phuket means I'm closer to an international airport, so if you're in a city near me, expect a visit in the not too distant..

I've worked for SSI - Scuba Schools International for about a year as Training and Technology Manager and recently became a partner.

If you know a little about diving, you've probably heard of PADI - if they're the Coke of Diving, then SSI is Pepsi - they're the largest two diver training agencies in the world. I've always prefered Pepsi to Coke, so when I was asked to work for SSI, I jumped at the chance.

I've done a couple of spells running a busy beach bar, but my partners and I had a minor disagreement with our landloard and we decided enough was enough.

He thought a 300% increase in rent was reasonable - we didn't! Still, it was fun while it lasted, but I've now got more time and energy to give to other things.
